*pencils - a minimum of 2
*paper - 8.5 x 11 inches
*a Red, Green OR Purple pen

Starts to new school years are always exciting. This year is no exception. My students are once again delightful and ready to get involved in class.

The End or a New Beginning???

Just in case some of you are actually checking my blog - here's an update.

Wedding plans for my daughter are in full and I do mean full, swing. All is well and it's been a great and happy experience. Less than 20 days now til the big day and then my focus will shift to beginning a new school year.

I hope that this years students will be as amazing as my last. It was truly a wonderful year. To those of you reading this. I wish you the best for your freshman year. Do send me a note and let me know if all your hard work paid off. I am POSITIVE that it will and that your 9th grade math class will be a snap.

Enjoy the last few weeks of summer and I look forward to hearing about your summer learning opportunities.

With sadness, I say goodbye to the class of 2013. You are amazing... not only were you hard working and brilliant, you were amazing amounts of fun. Every day was filled with moments of joy, lots of thinking and an amazing amount of energy. I will truly miss each of you.

I wish you well, I do hope you will take what you have learned - about how to succeed- and continue practicing your tools of success.... like showing your work and yes, even copying the problem. It really does make a difference.

You worked hard, I hope you gave it your best; I expected your best and for the most part I got it. My hope is that you will smile when you think of your year in Room 103. When you meet your next learning opportunity, be sure to send a comment and let me know about it. I know they will abound this summer.

You can always comment on my page... no matter how old you are~ so send me a note and stay in touch. You can sign your entire name so I know who you are and I won't publish your comment, or if you want me to publish it, continue with your first name and this years class period.

When we face challenging situations, it's a good time to set some goals to help us through the challenges. What are your challenges and your goals for this spring. Extra Credit: Practice Downloading a Worksheet

As you can see, to the right is a list of worksheets. If you click on the link, it will take you to my SlideShare account and open the worksheet as a PDF. In order to print a worksheet, right click anywhere on the worksheet and select print in the menu that appears. To earn the extra credit, you will need to print a worksheet on something other than a white piece of paper - like recycled stuff from home or in the WJ library. Turn it into the make-up basket with an assignment heading that says: DOWNLOAD PRACTICE. If you try this and it doesn't work, please let me know.

I'm off to Seattle for a conference February 12 - 15th. I'll be home on the 11:45 flight so I may have the tired look on Monday morning but I'll be excited to be home and back in my classroom.
